Erasmus+ VET
Erasmus+ actions in the field of Vocational Education and Training promote cooperation between VET providers, enhancement of quality of education and internationalization.
So far organizations from non-associated (partner) countries can participate in four actions:
Capacity building in VET
These are international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of VET. They aim to support the relevance, accessibility, and responsiveness of VET institutions and systems as a driver of sustainable socio-economic development. Thematic areas may include
- VET teachers/trainers professional development
- Quality assurance mechanisms
- Support to the development of green and digital skills
- Work-based learning etc.

Mobility for learners and staff
The purpose of mobility activities funded by Erasmus+ is to provide learning opportunities to individuals and to support internationalisation and institutional development of VET providers and other organisations in vocational education and training.
VET providers can apply for short-term projects for mobility of learners and staff, which provide applicant organisations with an opportunity to organise various mobility activities over a period of six to eighteen months. Applicant organizations must be established in an associated (programme) country. Georgian VET providers, being a non-associated (partner) country institutions, can only host incoming learners and staff.
Centres of Vocational Excellence
This action supports the gradual establishment and development of European platforms of Centres of Vocational Excellence, contributing to regional development, innovation, and smart specialisation strategies as well as to international collaborative platforms.
Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) are characterized by adopting a systemic approach. They are expected to go far beyond the simple provision of a quality vocational qualification. Features that characterise transnational cooperation platforms include a set of various activities grouped under the three clusters mentioned below:
- Teaching and learning
- Cooperation and partnerships
- Governance and funding
CoVEs are not intended to build new VET institutions and infrastructure from scratch (although they may also do so), but instead to bring together a set of local/regional partners, such as initial and continuing VET providers, tertiary education institutions including universities of applied sciences and polytechnics, research institutions, companies, chambers, social partners, national and regional authorities and development agencies, public employment services, etc.
Georgian VET providers can participate as partners and not as applicants.
